Hello and thank you for your video! I do not own any WiFi plugs or other home automation devices so I am not familiar with them in general. I run very strict network segregation at my home to prevent devices from communicating with each other if they have no need. Also, I have many subnets that are not allowed access to the internet so devices connected to them cannot “phone home” if I don’t want them to. All this to ask, do these units need internet access or just WiFi? I am not looking to control things while away from home. Mainly I want to set and forget based on timers or time-of-day schedules. Thanks again.
Is this model “Matter Compatible”? If so, it would work with all vendors, including Apple Home, Alexa, and Google Home. In other words, with a Matter Compatible plug, you can control the plugs using apps other than the Tapo app.
